Terms of Service.

By accessing the Service Today website (servicetoday.co.nz) or by booking a hero through us, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Service Today is a dispatch platform. We connect Auckland homeowners and occupants with verified, insured, independent plumbing contractors (“heroes”). We do not employ the heroes. The work is contracted directly between you and the hero who attends.

To book a hero you must be at least 18 years old, be legally able to enter contracts in New Zealand, and have authority over (or permission to arrange work on) the property where the work is to be performed.

When you submit a booking we will dispatch a hero who matches the job’s location, urgency and required skills. Estimated response times shown on the site are best efforts and depend on real-time availability and traffic.

You agree that the information you provide (address, contact details, description of the issue) is accurate and that you will be available at the property when the hero is due to arrive.

Heroes set their own rates. Where shown on the site, quoted prices are estimates only. Final pricing depends on the actual work performed, parts used and time taken, and will be confirmed by the hero before work begins.

• Pricing is confirmed by the hero before work begins.
• After-hours and emergency dispatch may attract a premium, disclosed before the hero is dispatched.
• Quotes for major work are provided in writing before commencement and any additional work is approved by you before it proceeds.

All prices include GST where applicable. Payment is made directly to the hero or through Service Today’s payment processor at the conclusion of the job.

You may cancel a booking free of charge any time before a hero is dispatched. Once a hero is on their way, a cancellation fee may apply to cover travel time.

Refunds for unsatisfactory work are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you are not satisfied with the work performed, contact us within 7 days and we will work with you and the hero to put it right.

Heroes are independent contractors. They carry their own public liability and professional indemnity insurance and are responsible for the workmanship of the job they perform. Service Today verifies licences, insurance and references before onboarding a hero, but we do not directly supervise their work.

You agree that you will not:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to arrange work that breaches building or plumbing regulations.
• Provide false information, impersonate another person, or attempt to access another user’s account.
• Behave abusively, threaten or harass any hero or staff member. We may suspend accounts that breach this.
• Interfere with the Service’s operation, attempt to scrape data, or reverse engineer the platform.

The Service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Service Today excludes all implied warranties and conditions. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies.

Service Today’s liability to you in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount paid by you to the hero for the affected booking, or (b) NZD $500. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special losses.

If something goes wrong, please contact us first at support@servicetoday.co.nz so we can help resolve it. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the parties agree to attempt mediation through a NZ-based mediator before commencing legal proceedings.

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above tells you when. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
